Waking Up With the Word

DAY 4 OF 7

I love this verse. So much. As I read it the Lord impressed on my heart different meanings for the different words and phrases. When a verse stands out to me, I like to read it over and over.

What am I doing? I am MEDITATING on God's Word! We are called to do this (Read Joshua 1).

When a verse stands out to me, I also like to read the verses surrounding it. I encourage you to do the same. We do this to gain deeper insight as to what the verse is saying. We do this to gain the context of the specific verse. I highly recommend this as you read God's Word.

Even if you aren't new to faith, it's good to do because we know that Romans 10:17 says, "Faith comes from hearing, that is, hearing the Good News about Christ." So, as we read God's Word over and over, we are building up our FAITH muscles and making them stronger and stronger!

As you are reading Scripture, you can ask yourself these 4 questions to help you GROW in your Faith Walk:

1. WHO is God Speaking to?

2. WHAT is the purpose of this verse?

3. HOW can I apply this verse to my life?

4. WHAT is God speaking to me in this verse?

I also encourage you to get a journal and write what verse catches your attention and what God is saying to you. In this verse I shared today, Psalm 1:3, the surrounding verses are also so important. Go read them.

Let's for a moment imagine a finished puzzle. One piece of the puzzle may NOT appear to have much significance but when you put all the pieces together... Wow! You have something so beautiful. It's the same with the Bible. One verse may not seem like it holds much value, but when you put ALL the verses together, you get Chapters - 66 to be exact. Those 66 Chapters are what is known as The Holy Bible.

The most popular book of all time. Illegal in some parts of the world. Why? Because it holds power and truth! And the devil is doing his best to keep God's people from having this transforming infallible truth in their hands because he knows once someone has the TRUTH revealed to them, he has lost. But we have to know...he has already LOST.

Hallelujah!

As you read the Bible you will learn too that Satan is already a defeated foe. No matter what he tries to do to us in this life, we must remember he is a LIAR and the father of lies. No matter how many times he tries to knock us down, we will STAND! Just as it says in our verse Psalm 1:3 we will stand firm, by God's design.

We will be deeply rooted!

We will bear fruit in every season!

We are ever blessed!

We are ever prosperous!

As you read God's Word, which is His Promises to those who believe in His Son Jesus, we are to take those Scriptures and DECLARE them over our lives.

God's Word belongs to us as His chosen children.

The Bible is the manual to living The Blessed Life here on earth. Every word in the Bible was spoken by God to the writer. The Bible is still RELEVANT, and it always will be. It is ALIVE and POWERFUL.

In Isaiah 55 it says God's Word will never fail but it will accomplish to where I send it. If you feel you are in a dry, desolate, dark season take Psalm 1:3 and DECLARE it over your life and anything that concerns you. And don't forget to read the surrounding verses...They will give you a powerful insight as to HOW this verse can come alive in your life, right now!

It doesn't matter what is happening around the World. You are not of this world if you are born again and have received Jesus as your Lord and Savior. Things all around you may seem uncertain, but with God NOTHING is impossible.

You can bear fruit in every season.

It doesn't matter what it LOOKS like.

It doesn't matter what the economy LOOKS like.

It doesn't matter what the news report looks like.

As believers in Christ, we are to give God first and final authority in our lives.

We are to take God's spoken word and EAT IT.

It's for you. It's for the taking. It's up to you how you will live your life. You get to choose what you BELIEVE in. As for me and my house...we will serve the Lord.

How about you?

DECLARATION:

As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord. God's word is for me. I am fruitful in every season.

QUESTION:

How can you apply today's verse to your life?

Go over the 4 Questions mentioned earlier and apply them to your Bible Study today.
