As a teenager (between 15-17 years old), a shepherd boy named David was anointed to be the next King of Judah. By the age of 30, he officially became King and later became King of Israel.
The current King (Saul), who was also David's father-in-law, repeatedly tried to kill him. It's during this time in his life that David laments to God about his grief. He is crying out to God for justice. He has an honest conversation about his situation, all while holding onto the hope that God can and will restore him. As we lament to God, we must keep our focus on God's faithfulness.
We know God's character.
We know where our hope comes from.
We know where our help comes from.
As we have an honest conversation with God, like David did, we can know and believe that God will take care of us too. Even though the situation may not look good, and we can be tempted to worry, we know that God is good. As believers we do not live according to the flesh but by the Spirit of God. We don't allow how situations look to determine our outcome.
We walk by faith, not by sight.
We know that God is good...in the good times and in the bad times!
We know God is still worthy to be worshipped!
We know God is still worthy to be praised!
God used all the hard times in David's life to turn him into the man He created him to be. He can do that for you too. Those problems you are facing in life can either make you or break you. Let David be your example today.
Allow the adversity to shape and mold you into the character of Christ.
Allow those setbacks to become setups.
Allow the setbacks you've endured to strengthen your character and prepare you for your future purpose.
That circumstance may be painful and daunting, but we know God is faithful. God can take your pain and use it for His purpose. NOTHING is wasted with God. He can make a way through your difficult story. Allow Him to be your source of strength and your refuge in times of trouble. Nothing is impossible with God.
DECLARATION:
God, you are mighty and worthy of all my praise. I will praise you because you are my source of strength. Nothing is impossible for you. In Jesus' mighty name. Amen.
QUESTION:
What situation in your life do you need to surrender to God and allow Him to take control? Take a moment today and lay all your cares and concerns at the precious feet of Jesus knowing that with Him, all things are possible.
