Romans Part 2 - FaithVoorbeeld
WARNING
Apart from Jesus, we are all sinners and stand guilty before God, deserving of His righteous wrath. But, Jesus stepped in our place and took on the wrath of God. He took the mocking, shame, whips, and nails and died a criminal's death on the cross for me and for you.
Therefore, you and I can stand before God, covered in His, Jesus’s, righteousness, completely forgiven.
Jesus said, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” We all, everyone, will one day stand in judgment before God. We will be judged, not for what we have done, but rather, for whom we have put our faith in. There is no other way to stand before God but covered in the righteousness of Jesus Christ.
Some will say,” But I am a good practicing __________(insert religion); I attend services every week and give to charitable causes. But, Jesus said, ”I never knew you; depart from me you who practice lawlessness.” Matt 7:23 Others may say, "But, I am a good person. I don’t hurt anyone.” But, by whose standards are we judging “good?”
Don’t miss the warning here: to those who are self-seeking, and who reject the truth, there will be wrath and anger.
Religion can’t save us; doing good works can’t save us; only our faith in Jesus can save us.
