Life In The Kingdom

DAY 4 OF 45

Born Of God?

The new is here! The new creation has come…Jesus told Nicodemus that belief in Him is so transforming that it is best described as being born again. Our entire existence gets a new start. When we believe in Jesus, we belong to Him and become like Him.

5 Jesus answered, "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. 6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. (John 3:5-6)

We experience a second birth but it is spiritual in nature. How?

21 For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God. (2 Corinthians 5:21)

In His incarnation, Jesus who is fully God became fully Man. In His crucifixion, Jesus the Sinless man became Sin because of men. He took our sin and gave us His righteousness. We gave Him our sin and took His righteousness. By doing so, we become God’s children. From orphans to become sons and daughters. Jesus was born of man so that we could be born of God.

12 But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God, 13 who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God. (John 1:12-13)

Prayer: Lord, thank You for taking my sins and exchanging it with Your righteousness. Thank You for Your sacrifice on the Cross, that I may have eternal life. I am undeserving but I know I am Your child so I can gladly accept it freely because You love me unconditionally. In Your name, I pray, Amen!
