Life In The KingdomSample
A New Relationship
A sinful life is a self-centered life. We ignored God and lived outside His will. When the old life is replaced by a new life, it enables us to live in God’s will and in His Kingdom. Our desire becomes the accomplishment of God’s will rather than the realization of our will. This is a big change! It is much more than tweaking our lives by improving our speech, behavior or thinking. The passing of the old is a fundamental change in our lives.
Ultimately, we are now reconciled with God. We were enemies of God. Our sinfulness and self-centered ambitions have broken our relationship with God. The cross of Jesus Christ, though, has reconciled us with God; the gap between God and us has been bridged. We are now identified as sons and daughters of God.
The change from being estranged from God to being reinstated as God’s children has a profound effect in our lives. Hate has been replaced by love. Conflict has been removed and peace had been added. Loneliness is no longer a part of our lives because we have God’s presence in us. We now enter God’s presence as children enter the presence of a loving parent. We are loved by the Father.
Prayer: Father, help me to lead a life of peace, righteousness and joy for I know that I have Your unconditional love. I submit myself to You and lead a new life completely free of my old life; a God-centred life, not a self-centred life. In Jesus’ name, I pray, Amen!
