Your Old Life Is Gone

Look at the verb tense of the new life Paul is talking about. He says that the “old has passed away.” We are born with things that are opposite of Jesus, things that are part of our sinful nature. When we say yes to Jesus, the old life no longer define us. They are gone!

The new life is now displayed in us. Our new life is something that happened when we have become “in Christ.” The key word: IN. We are not simply bringing Jesus into our world. We are jumping into His Kingdom. Jesus came into our world so that we can come into His Kingdom. He was born of a woman so that we can be born of God. 

Which best describes your relationship with Jesus: Him in your world or you in His? Life in Christ is life in the Kingdom. This is heaven on earth!

Prayer: Father, open my eyes to see the wonders of the Kingdom around me. It is here now and I have given up my old self so that I may enjoy the fruits of the Kingdom and live it out daily as a new person in Christ. Strengthen my relationship with Jesus for that I know that I am in His Kingdom today! In Jesus’ name, I pray, Amen!
