You might be stepping out in faith by resolving to share the Gospel with someone in your life, taking on a new ministry role, or merely wishing to keep your heart open to situations that allow you to be a strong witness for Christ. Easier said than done, because we know that trouble WILL come when we commit to serving Christ.

Without faith it’s impossible to please God. And faith, by its biblical definition, is “the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”  So blind faith—the kind that involves trusting God while you walk a path you can’t see—arrests God’s attention and captivates His heart.

Faith is everything, yet certainty isn’t. And while I don’t know your circumstances and what God is calling you “by faith” to do right now, I DO know God’s nature. The promise of His reward to those who earnestly seek Him is beyond what you or I could ever imagine.

Let me encourage you to write the phrase “by faith” and put it somewhere you look regularly—let it seep down deep into your soul as you take God-led leaps in your life to serve Him.

God, forgive us when our faith is weak. When we have a chance, but fail to share about the hope we have in you. When the world or people who don’t know and love you (yet) get us down. Bolster our faith in your mightiness. Give us boldness to send your Word forth in confidence that everyone who encounters it cannot help but leave changed. We trust in you alone. May our deep faith convict us to speak and act for your honor and glory today. Amen
