HOLY SPIRIT IN TIMES OF FEAR

Peter and the other disciples, who had previously fled from the cross, later embraced it, and many even boldly gave their lives for Christ after receiving the power of the Holy Spirit. The anointing transformed the ordinary followers into extraordinary individuals who changed the world. In all times of our fears, the Holy Spirit of God, the greatest comforter and counselor promised by Christ, is there right beside us. He fills us with His anointing to overcome every fear.

Apostle Paul was surrounded by extreme paganism and immorality in Corinth, and there was great opposition against him when the Gospel was shared. In dealing with this, Paul may have been tempted to keep silent out of fear and not continue preaching. God meets Paul at the point of his need and through a vision, encourages him to continue preaching and not to be afraid. God had greater plans for Paul and comforted him by saying that He would protect Paul. Likewise, we may feel discouraged and fearful in the midst of persecution, and the temptation to keep silent can arise. Still, the Holy Spirit encourages us to walk boldly in confidence, preaching the Gospel despite the challenges, because He has promised to be with us and His anointing will empower us.

Commit and Pray

When we are afraid or tempted to remain silent, do we feel the presence of the Holy Spirit, which strengthens us to continue doing the task assigned to us?

Let us pray for the Lord to fill us with the power of His Holy Spirit and strengthen us in each of our fearful moments of persecution so that we will not be fearful and continue serving Him faithfully until the very end.

This reading plan is a great way to prepare yourself to face fear when facing persecution if you are fearful of it now.
