Who Is God? Exploring the Attributes of God預覽
Unchanging Faithfulness
Have you ever had someone lie to you or break a promise? I have. When someone lies to me, it breaks my trust, and I become cautious about what they say, wondering if it is true.
Thankfully, there is someone we can always trust. God will always be faithful to His word and His promises. The faithfulness of God is visible throughout the pages of scripture. God keeps all of His promises. God promised Abraham and Sarah a son, and He gave them Isaac. God promised a redeemer for the world after Adam and Eve sinned, and He sent Christ to die for our sins. In these two circumstances, God proved Himself to be faithful to His word. God's very nature is to be faithful. He is reliable. He can't be unfaithful. If He were unfaithful, He would not be God.
Scripture tells us that God does not and cannot lie. "So God has given both his promise and his oath. These two things are unchangeable because it is impossible for God to lie. Therefore, we who have fled to him for refuge can have great confidence as we hold to the hope that lies before us." Hebrews 6:18 (NLT)
We can place our trust and confidence in God. When we go through a painful situation, God will never leave us. "The faithful love of the Lord never ends! His mercies never cease. Great is his faithfulness; his mercies begin afresh each morning." Lamentations 3:22-23 (NLT)
No matter what situation we face today or tomorrow, we can rest in the undeniable truth that God never fails. He will not fail because He cannot fail.
Reflect:
