God won’t leave you. He hears the cries of his people and comes to their aid. It’s not always the kind of help we want nor expect – which is perhaps a reason that we so often don’t notice God in our darkest moments – but he always comforts, accompanies and saves us.
What do you think it feels like to have God with you?
Prayer: Thank you, God, that you save us. Thank you for hearing our cries. Please deliver us from evil. Amen.

Sometimes, no matter which direction we look, it all just seems like too much. Pressures push in on us from every side. Though it’s hard to see, our God is with us even then. In the moments when we need to sit in a dark room, curl into a ball and weep, he is there with us, and he has some surprisingly comforting things to speak into our hearts.
