Grow With God: 31 Day Devotional預覽
CAN YOU TRUST THE BIBLE?
DAY TEN OF THIRTY ONE
I came across this quote recently: “The more you read the Bible, the more you’ll love the author.” I’ve experienced this myself, and it couldn’t be more true. Some people like to say, “it’s just written by people, so it’s not actually from God”.
I know what it’s like to get a download from the Holy Spirit, and you’re actually reading an example of it right now. It doesn’t always feel like my writing comes from my own thoughts, but the words flow out so seamlessly.
I’ll often look back at my old blog posts and read them, thinking “Who wrote this?!” I know it was me, but I can hardly imagine myself coming up with those words because they seem so striking, powerful, and inspired.
I know I’m a gifted writer, but when God sends His Message through me, my fingers can hardly keep up trying to get it out. Even I’m surprised and encouraged by what’s written afterwards. This is the same way I look at the people who God called to write different books of the Bible. Yes, it was written by humans, but it is God-breathed.
The words didn’t come from their own minds, and each book is important for us to learn from. When we choose to study the Bible and understand it in context, it makes sense why every single line of text is there.
Prayer: When you read the Bible, ask God to help you make sense of it. Ask for the Holy Spirit to help you understand the words and how to apply them to your life.
