Truth I'm Standing On: Leanna Crawford預覽
Day 2: Stand On God’s Strength
Jesus loves me this I know
For the Bible tells me so
Little ones to Him belong
They are weak but He is strong.
I have vivid memories of singing this sweet song in Sunday School. Of course, at the time I thought I was invincible (besides my fear of heights, of course); I thought I could do pretty much anything. I galloped my horse around the woods bareback, walked across our frozen pond (do not recommend), and, well, you get the point. I was pretty fearless, and the idea of my “weakness” was never a consideration or question.
Fearlessness can quickly take a turn if you don’t know your limits. So, after a few healthy-sized scrapes and large bruises, I began to realize that maybe I wasn’t totally invincible after all. In fact, I realized that no matter how strong someone may be physically or mentally, the world can still take a toll on them. I learned that people die too young, and people get hurt for reasons we can’t understand. I learned that pain is something we all experience at different times in our lives and that it makes us feel weak and helpless.
We are weak. On our own, we can’t face, let alone overcome a lifetime full of battles. But are you ready for some good news? God is strong, even when we are weak. The Bible says, “His power is made perfect in our weakness.” When we are finally able to let go of the things we can’t control, He says nothing is impossible with Him. We can stand on God’s strength.
Reflection and Prayer:
Are you feeling weak right now? Ask God to help you stand on His strength.
