Passion: Take It All Devotions预览
“Let It Be Jesus” Devotional
Passion feat. Christy Nockels
“For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain.” (Phil. 1:21, NKJV)
Far too often we complicate the Gospel by trying to turn it into something it’s not. The Gospel is simply Jesus. That’s what life is about. That’s where hope is found. Our very breath depends on the Creator of the Universe. Our identity and worth is wrapped up in the One who holds the stars in place. Our purpose is defined by the Voice that calms the wind and waves. It’s in Him and through Him that we have life and by His sacrifice that we are free.
For me to live is Christ/ And God I breathe Your name/ Above everything...Let it be Jesus
If you claim to know Christ, Jesus should be at the center of every thought, every decision and every word and deed. Why? Because we are not our own. We have been purchased with a price, and our lives are His.
“I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.” (Gal. 2:20, NIV)
There is infinite power in calling on the name of Jesus, simply because He is good. Thankfully, God’s character is not determined by our circumstances, our pain, our relationships or our mood. He’s always faithful and remains unchanging to the end. Oftentimes, we have a tendency to only need Him when life starts to get hard. However, God’s desire is for us to come to Him in our joy just as much as we come to Him in our pain.
Should I ever be abandoned/ Should I ever be acclaimed/ Should I ever be surrounded/ By the fire and the flame/ There’s a name I will remember/ There’s a name I will proclaim/ Let it be/ Let it be Jesus
We have open access to the Father through Jesus, and there is nothing in heaven or on earth that can stop Him from loving us or keep Him from relentlessly pursuing us. Romans 8:38-39 reminds us, “For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (NIV)
In the good and the bad, may the first word on our lips be His holy name.
