Together, we continue to arrange our lives around rhythms Jesus engaged in throughout his life. After all, if Jesus himself required that way of living, so must we too.

So today, that brings us to the discipline of worship. That is, to engage with, to dwell upon, to think about God’s worthiness. To simply acknowledge His greatness, His sufficiency, His sovereignty. That is worship.

Sometimes, something extraordinary happens when we worship. When our thoughts and hearts turn to the experience and perception of God with us, we can experience what’s called the manifest presence of God. An experience like this can make for an immediate and dramatic change in a life. However, this is not always the case in worship.

And why do we worship in the first place? The answer lies within a truth we all know: when we see something extraordinary, our experience of it is incomplete until we are able to express it to someone else. For example, have you ever said one of these sentences? “You gotta read this book!” “You have to see this movie!” We long to share great things in a two-way experience. And the ultimate expression of that is between our Creator and His children.

So today, allow yourself to worship the King of the world. Lift up your heart. Let the Lord be with you. Welcome Home.

Here’s today’s video.

Today’s invitation:

Today, make it your aim to worship the Lord. Lift your heart. Lift your voice. Maybe use a prayer like the Lord’s Prayer to guide you. Or use nature, poetry, song…whatever inspires you. Any good thing relating to God can provide an opportunity for worship because we were made to live in the fierce joy of the God who loves us.
