Enforcing You: Activating Your Kingdom Identity in Christ预览
“For as he thinks in his heart, so is he.”
Proverbs 23:7
The word heart in this verse means, “activity of mind, will (desire), and character.” This verse reminds us that who we become is formed by what we are thinking in our hearts. I think it is fair to say that what you believe, you will become. Hence, your core beliefs ultimately mold your paradigm.
Paradigm refers to a pattern, a model, or a mold. In this case, we are referring to the pattern by which you live, or the mold your life “fits into.” The important thing to note is that core beliefs are the mold by which patterns are developed and paradigms are established.
Think about a cake pan and how the batter takes on the shape of the pan. Whatever cake design I want to make, I can do it, I just need the right mold to pour the batter into. This is the case with our core beliefs. If I use the mold of the world, then I will take on the form of the world. This includes the way the world thinks, feels, and reasons.
But let’s circle back to day 1 of this devotional and remember God says, “as He is, so are we in this world…” (1 John 4:17) In other words, HE is our mold!
You and I are created in the image of God, in the likeness of Christ. This is our God-design. This is our potential. However, we MUST pour our lives continually into Him if we want that mold to take shape in our lives. It is as you pour into Him that your paradigm will begin to take the shape of Kingdom principles and heavenly characteristics. Isn’t this what we are here for? Isn’t this what our heart desires?
I can’t help but think of all the thoughts and emotions and voices that we pour into. If you pour your thoughts into the mold of depression, you will take on the form of depression. If you set your heart on anger, you will take on the form of anger. Conversely, if you set your mind on joy, you will reap joy and become the manifestation of joy to those around you. If you set your heart on grace and forgiveness, you will be molded by grace and become a person who is quick to forgive.
What are the thoughts of your heart and how are they molding your paradigm? It’s time to get to the root and recognize the power of what goes on in your heart.
Let’s declare a shift together. “God, I declare that today my heart with think like You. I pour my thoughts into Kingdom Truths and declare that I will become more like You today.”
