Day 3 - Now or Never
Marleen Blondeel
It happened again…!
I am living with the regrets of an opportunity not taken.
The other night I ran into a couple that I know on a 'hello-how are you'-level.
So I stopped and popped the usual hello-how are you question.
We shared some smalltalk backwards and forwards and said our goodbyes.
When I got home it hit me: that couple was emotionally low, on the verge of empty and I let the opportunity go by to minister to them.
Have you been there?
Too often I have! (even just the other day!)
If you are anything like me, I feel your regret, your self-disappointment.
Every moment is the paradox of now or never.
There are moments in life that we cannot miss and opportunities we can’t pass by.
The Holy Spirit challenges us, calls us, and we need to make a decision on whether we will say yes to the promptings of God.
When the pain of staying the same becomes bigger than the pain of the change we will change!
Romans 13:11a (AMP) - Do this, knowing that this is a critical time. It is already the hour for you to awaken from your sleep [of spiritual complacency].
Ask the Holy Spirit to be sensitive to his promptings every moment of the day.
If we say 'It's now or never', it means that something must be done immediately, because if it is not done immediately there will not be another chance to do it.
The opportunity may never happen again.
It’s a moment of truth, a point of no return.
Let’s develop a Jesus character: doing the right thing in the right way, relentlessly.
1 Corinthians 3:12-13 (AMP) - But if anyone builds on the foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw, each one’s work will be clearly shown [for what it is]; for the day [of judgment] will disclose it, because it is to be revealed with fire, and the fire will test the quality and character and worth of each person’s work.
It's now or never, we ain't gonna live forever.
Let’s approach this week, the Cave and all that unfolds after with a ‘now or never’ mentality.
James 4:14 (AMP) - Yet you do not know [the least thing] about what may happen in your life tomorrow. [What is secure in your life?] You are merely a vapor [like a puff of smoke or a wisp of steam from a cooking pot] that is visible for a little while and then vanishes [into thin air].
Tomorrow will be too late.
Live like tomorrow will never come.
We must decide to not just be a face in the crowd.
They're gonna hear our voice when we shout it out loud.
This is for the ones who stand their ground.
The way we play every day is what we leave behind.
History will know who we are.
That’s what we are talking about: just do it!
