MAINTAIN AN ETERNAL FOCUS
When we go through difficult situations, Job's story helps us understand the need for a timeless approach. The basis for not getting discouraged is to understand that God can do anything and that it is impossible to thwart any of His plans.
In 1 Corinthians 15, Paul reminds us that we must always have a perspective shaped by the invisible and not the visible, by the eternal and not the temporal. Although we may not feel that way at times, in this life, God gives us enough grace to face and go through every situation that we have to live through.
Oswald Chambers says of Paul: "He welcomed pain, disappointment, tribulations for one reason only: these things kept him steadfast in his devotion to God's gospel."
How's your faith right now?
I would like to encourage you to have an eternal focus so the situation you are facing does not limit your worship. Worship like never before, put music in your car, kitchen, living room or wherever you are day after day. Because when you raise a song to the Lord, your heart focuses on Him; you proclaim His victory and focus on His greatness, His power and majesty. At the end of the day, we are all created to worship Him.
Let us not deny reality, but rather live according to that higher and more powerful reality that is the word of God, aligning our confession with what God speaks.
I love Paul's words to the Corinthians, reminding them that neither sin nor death could overcome Jesus. This is the God we serve! The same God who will sustain you in the midst of trial, the one who will renew your strength and raise your eyes to all that He has prepared for your life.
So, friend, when you find yourself in the midst of the storm, remember that there is more from God, that Jesus conquered and us with Him.
