MAKE THE WORD EFFECTUAL IN YOUR LIFE

让道在你的生命中发生果效 

And say to Archippus, Take heed to the ministry which thou hast received in the Lord, that thou fulfil it (Colossians 4:17).

对亚基布说，要谨慎你从主所受的事工，好完成它。（歌罗西书4:17）

Some Christians think once they hear the Word, the next thing is to go preach whatever they’ve heard or been taught to others. Yes, we’re to preach and teach the Word to others, but the primary reason for the Word coming to you is for that Word to impact you, transform your life and become mingled with you. 

有些基督徒认为当他们一听完道，接下来该作的就是把自己所听到或学到的所有内容教给别人。是的，我们应当向他人传讲、教导神的道，但神道临到你的首要原因是为了影响你，转变你的生命并使道与你的生命调和。

The Word has to work in you, and produce results in you first; otherwise, you won’t be able to preach and teach it effectively; you’ll merely be acquainted with the theories, the letters of the Word, and not the Spirit of the Scriptures. Interestingly, the Word prevailing in you isn’t God’s responsibility, but yours; you’re the one to give yourself wholly, and make it have power over you, through meditation. 1 Timothy 4:15 says, “Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all.” 

这道必须首先在你里面运行并在你身上生发结果，否则你就不能有效地传讲和教导神的道，只能熟悉这些理论，知道经文的字句却不明白其中蕴含的灵。值得注意的是，这道在你里面得胜不是神的职责，乃是你的责任；你是那要将自己全然交托，通过默想使这道在你的身上彰显大能的人。提摩太前书4:15说：“这些事你要默想，并要在此专心，使众人看出你的长进来。”

It reminds of the charge to Archippus, a brother in the Church at Colossae; the Spirit, through the Apostle Paul, said to him, “Take heed to the ministry which thou hast received in the Lord, that thou fulfil it” (Colossians 4:17). The admonition was necessary because the responsibility to fulfil the call of God on your life rests with you, and not God. Your fulfilling the ministry or His call begins with your own life. The Word of God must first prevail in your personal life before it can prevail through you in the lives of others. 

这让我们想起亚基布所面对的指正，他是歌罗西教会的一位弟兄，圣灵通过使徒保罗对他说：“谨慎你从主所受的事工，好完成它。”（歌罗西书4:17）这是很必要的劝勉，因为成全神对你呼召的责任在于你，而非神。完成事工或祂在你身上的呼召均始于你自己的生命。在藉着你在他人生命中得胜之前，神的道必须首先在你个人的生命中得胜。

Some people have been Christians for donkey years and have remained the same; they haven’t made much progress, because they haven’t taken the Word as an important factor in their lives, even though they may have been preaching to others. It really doesn’t matter that you’re preaching or singing the Word, if you don’t use it for your personal transformation, it’ll do you no good.

有些人做了多年基督徒，却始终毫无改变，他们没有什么进步，因为他们没有将神的道作为自己生命中重要的因素，即便他们可能一直在向他人传道。无论你是讲道还是歌唱这道真的都没什么关系，如果你不将这道用于自身的转变，这道与你就无益了。

We all have the ministry of changing other people’s lives with the Word, but the Word must first prevail in your personal life. Let the Word first change your own life. When that happens, you’re able to preach and teach it to others more effectively, with boldness borne of conviction.

我们都肩负着以神的道改变他人生命的事工，但神的道必须首先在你的生命中得胜。让这道首先改变你自己的生命吧。到那时，你就能够带着坚定的信念，更大胆地更有效地传讲、教导人了。

Precious Holy Spirit, how awesome you are! You’re so gracious and kind! Thank you for opening the eyes of my understanding to know your Word, and to walk in your wisdom and righteousness, fulfilling my purpose and destiny in you, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

宝贵的圣灵啊，你是何等伟大！你是何等的仁慈、良善！感谢你打开我悟性的眼睛，使我晓得你的道，行在你的智慧和公义中，成就我在你里面的目标和命定。在耶稣的名里，阿们。
