The Bible OverBrew - Bible in a Yearنمونہ
Week 1. Day 2. Gen 5-9.
Noah represents something of a ‘fresh start’ for humanity. As you read the Noah story, ponder the similarities that Noah and Adam (Gen 1-2) have:
- In what they do
- In what God says to them
Notice also how 8:21 and 6:5 have the same verdict on human nature.
Noah shows that for humanity to enjoy living in paradise with God, something more than just a fresh start is needed. Noah is something of a new Adam figure, but just like the first Adam he sins (in a garden) leading to God’s judgment.
God’s covenant with Noah doesn’t solve the problem, it just gives time: God promises he won’t flood the earth again in judgment. So we are left waiting, looking for an offspring of the woman who might be the one to crush evil forever, one who might be what both Adam and Noah should have been.
NOTE: Days 1-5 of each week contain the scripture reading for that week. Day 6 has just the 'key chapters'. If you want a briefer version of this plan that still takes you through the whole Bible, you could just read the key chapters featured on day 6. Day 7 has the podcast video where we discuss the week's reading.

The Bible OverBrew is a friendly virtual book group, helping you read the Bible in big chunks, preferably with a mug of tea! Maybe you've tried to read through the Bible before, but gave up when it felt confusing or too intense? We are here to help you! We provide notes and questions to guide your reading, and note ‘key chapters’ if you don’t have time to read it all. In our podcast at the end of each week we draw out the key themes, and how it all points to Christ. We’d love you to join us!
