Identity Conquers Lustنمونہ
Begin with Identity
Paul doesn’t begin the letter to the Ephesians by addressing the sexual sin that held many within the Ephesian Church in bondage. He begins with identity. Paul was committed to get to the root of the issue. As we will see, there are actually six roots to sexually compulsive behavior and identity is a key part of addressing these roots. A plan or program that doesn’t address the roots of addiction is like mowing a yard full of weeds. It looks great at first, but the weeds always come back because the roots weren’t dealt with. Addressing the roots begins with Identity.

Reflection questions:
- What does it mean that the Christian life doesn’t begin with do but it begins with done? What are the implications?
- Which truths about our identity do you most need to sit in?
- How should the reality of this verse impact your life? Therefore, there is no condemnation for those in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:1).
