Healing
God’s beautiful surprise began unfolding just hours later. On Monday morning, Bill stepped into the kitchen doorway and asked, “Do you see anything different about me?” I looked carefully, but didn't see a thing. Then he pointed to his right eye. For months he had endured a small white cyst in the lower left corner of his eye. He was conscious of it all the time. He had been to a surgeon, who told him it was too deep and too close to his eye to be removed.
Bill shouted, “It's gone!” Sure enough, the cyst was gone. Then he shared that Saturday night he had looked into the mirror and cried out to God, “If You are real and care anything about me, take this cyst away.” God had performed a miracle and Bill knew without question that he had encountered his very personal, powerful God.
Monday night he privately whispered his most desperate prayer. “Take away my desire to drink.”
On Wednesday morning a similar scene was repeated. That husband of mine stood in the kitchen doorway and asked, “Do you see anything different about me?” Somehow it struck me as funny, so smiling hugely I looked, but didn't see anything different. In an awed voice he announced, “I awakened this morning and didn't want a drink and knew I never would again.” He never desired alcohol or drank again from this moment.
I asked him why he thought I could see something different. He said, “After the revival I saw something different in you, and I wanted you to see something different in me.” This was day three of seeking God’s will for our lives.
On day four, Bill knelt at his father's grave and gave Jesus his life.
When Jesus was tortured and died, He defeated every sin, pain, addiction, sickness and disease. I do not know why some people are not healed when we pray, but that does not mean we are not invited to pray for His supernatural power to touch us and those we love! Today’s Scriptures are about God’s power and healing. Know Jesus cares intensely, dear child.
