Money Mindset Shift Through PrayerЗразок
How does the relationship you have with money affect your relationship with God? That’s just one of the questions we’ll answer during this three-day Bible plan.
Over the next few days, we’ll take some time to dissect, reflect and hopefully begin to shift our money mindset.
As someone who is a believer and an ordained minister, but also a debt-free advocate navigating the financial wellness space, I can honestly say there’s a delicate balance.
Every single day, I make sure that I give each of these aspects of my life their proper importance, with my faith and my Father being at the top of the list.
Money worshiping. Have you heard of the concept before? It’s one of several classified money disorders. People struggling with money worship believe that acquiring more money will directly translate to more happiness. They also tend to believe that they will never actually have enough money to fulfill their desires, so it becomes an endless obsession.
They’re trying to heal a wound that only God’s love can remedy.
And yet, they prioritize material possessions and seek satisfaction in the wrong places.
I’m not coming from a place of judgment, please understand. As someone who used to have tens of thousands of dollars in credit card debt, I know how easy it is to get caught up in status, appearances and the addiction to more.
When you worship money, and a desire for worldly possessions fills your heart, where is God? Where is your faith in his promise to provide? Money can’t save you. Gadgets and purses and cars are not what provide true, long-lasting fulfillment.
Take an honest look at your life currently and your interactions with money. Are you prioritizing the right relationships?
If not, don’t be discouraged; you can always make a change for the better. Our God is merciful and kind.
Remember, 1 Timothy 6:10 NIV,
For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.
But also,
Daniel 9:9 says The Lord our God is merciful and forgiving, even though we have rebelled against him.
Be encouraged.
