The Good LifeЗразок
King David wanted to bring the ark of the covenant to Jerusalem. His first attempt was a failure because the ark wasn’t carried properly. So, the ark remained at the household of Obed-Edom, and his household had become blessed. Then, David tried again. This time, they sacrificed a fattened calf after only traveling six steps. And, “wearing a linen ephod, David was dancing before the Lord with all his might, while he and all Israel were bringing up the ark of the Lord with shouts and the sound of trumpets” (2 Samuel 6:14-15). It was a parade of joy and celebration. David was dancing so unashamedly that his wife became embarrassed and rebuked him for it. But David was so thankful God had chosen him to lead: “I will become even more undignified than this” (2 Samuel 6:22), David responded to her. God had done such great things for David, he wasn’t ashamed for everyone to see him celebrate and praise. As believers, the list of God’s goodness in our lives is long, too. Think about some of the wonderful things God has done for you. Our lives overflow with His goodness. Praise Him for it. Be undignified. Join the spirit of the joy parade that marched that day. People may notice, but who cares? The only one watching who matters is God.
