TRANSFORMED
I'm still amazed at how a caterpillar can turn out to be a beautiful butterfly. From a crawling worm, it transforms into something different. It grows wings and comes out of its cocoon able to fly.
Likewise, God wants us to be transformed so we can fly high for Him and fulfill His purposes. He doesn't want us to just conform to the norm of our society today. He does not command us to just reform our ways; but He called us to be transformed. Though reformation is not bad, it can't bring about complete change in a person. What we all need is transformation.
"Transformation" is a complete change in someone's form. Major and genuine change in a person's character and behavior can only be possible if it starts from the inside.

Most of the time we focus on what we see on the outside - what we wear, how we talk, how many ministries in church we are part of, etc. We can look good on the outside, but if it is not deeply rooted in the love of Christ, our true self will eventually be exposed.
An understanding of the Gospel and of God's amazing love, will grip our souls and will cause us to fall on our knees in worship. This is the Gospel-Jesus Christ died for undeserving sinners like us, giving us freedom from the power of sin and death, and offering us life to the full. He is inviting us to become a part of His family. What an fathomable kind of love! A holy and mighty God is longing to embrace a fragile, rebellious, and a selfish human being like you and me. This kind of love allows us to be transformed from the inside out.
As children of God, we do not conform any longer to the patterns of this world, but we are transformed by the renewing of our minds (Romans 12:1). The Bible says that we have the mind of Christ. If we have the mind of Christ, love, truth, peace, grace should overpower the lies that bring about depression, hate, pride and lust that bombards our heads every single day.
When the world tries to define us and dictate how we ought to be, we must go back to the Word of God and let it shed light on the truth for us. When we are surrounded with negativity, we must remember how much God loves us, and put our hope on the cross of Jesus Christ.
