What Jesus Said About His LordshipHalimbawa
When Jesus comes back, there will be no doubt about who is Lord
There will be great chaos when the Lord of lords and King of kings (Revelation 17:14) returns to earth. This much is clear from Revelation 6:15-17 – Then the kings of the earth and the great ones and the generals and the rich and the powerful, and everyone, slave and free, hid themselves in the caves and among the rocks of the mountains, calling to the mountains and rocks, "Fall on us and hide us from the face of him who is seated on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb, for the great day of their wrath has come, and who can stand?”
Evangelical Christians tend to move many aspects of life to the very fringes of their lives. Despite our constant talk about the Lordship of Christ, we have narrowed its scope to a very small area of reality. (Francis Schaeffer).
It is widespread in evangelism that people are invited to follow Jesus as Saviour, but not to make it clear that people must also accept Jesus as Lord. We must follow Jesus as Lord and Saviour. It is impossible to say Jesus is my Saviour without saying Jesus is my Lord.
Maybe the ultimate reason why Christians don't go to the unsaved, the unreached, not soiling their hands by helping the poor, caring for the enslaved and exploited, and getting involved in the vast lostness, brokenness and pain around them is the non-acceptance of the Lordship of Christ. Again and again, The Spirit is calling to people to do something about the needs of people. The majority simply say "No". This means we reject Jesus as Lord. The problem is not with God calling us to go but with people who simply say to the God of the universe: "No, I have my own things to do. You saved me, but please leave me alone now."
Obedience: Can others see that Jesus is Lord of your life? Why not?
