God Sees Me!

ARAW 5 NG 9

God sees the sorrow caused to you

Consider my affliction and my trouble…” (Psalm 25:18)

David was struggling. He felt lonely and miserable. His heart was distressed. He was surrounded by enemies, and their numbers seemed to grow by the day. From that situation, David cried out to the Lord, trusting that He would see David's troubles.

Over the centuries, David's cry has been repeated countless times by believers in difficult situations. Sometimes God intervenes. Sometimes He does not, or not immediately. Godless people take that as an occasion to claim that God doesn't see us humans at all and doesn't call anyone to account. But the Bible strongly disagrees: “But you do see, for you note mischief and vexation, that you may take it into your hands; to you the helpless commits himself” (Psalm 10:14).

The Lord sees the injustice and sorrow done to us. One day He will avenge it. He will administer justice. Therefore, we may give it all into His hands.

If evil is done to you by another person, what is your reaction? Of course, you may seek appropriate help (for example, from your parents, from a teacher or from the police) to stop the injustice. But do you also bring it to the Lord God in prayer? What do you expect from Him in such situations?
