Jesus, I Need You Part 6ตัวอย่าง
QUIET MOMENT
In the Gospel of Luke, we have a record of a sermon preached by Jesus that is parallel to the Sermon on the Mount in Matthew. It is referred to as the Sermon on the Plain. In the hopes of really hearing the Lord as we sit on the mount, we will look at the Sermon on the Plain in the Quiet Moments and then explore the Sermon on the Mount in the Going Deeper portion.
Who was there? Who would truly hear Jesus’ words? How would they respond? Do you see your need for Jesus? Are you willing to acknowledge your need for Him? Take a moment now and pray that the Lord will prepare your heart to receive all you read. Ask Him to give you ears to hear.
GOING DEEPER
The Sermon on the Mount begins with what is referred to as “the Beatitudes,” in which each statement begins with “Blessed are…” This short plan though, is designed to be an introduction and to give us a framework as we seek to grow in our understanding of this powerful sermon. For those of you who like to do puzzles, we are taking time to look at the picture, sort out the pieces, find the corners and side pieces, and get the frame of the puzzle put together. Prayerfully read the first portion of the Sermon on the Mount in Matthew 5:1-20. What are the eight Beatitudes? What do you think each one means?
Blessed are…
Blessed are…
Blessed are…
Blessed are…
Blessed are…
Blessed are…
Blessed are…
Blessed are…
REFLECTION AND PRAYER
Take time now to go to the Lord in prayer. Praise Him, confess to Him, thank Him, and ask Him. Be vulnerable, be honest, and be willing to be changed.
TAKING THE TRUTH TO HEART AND BRINGING IT TO LIFE
Choose one truth from today and apply it to your heart. Take it with you throughout the day.

It’s important to know Jesus and what is important to Him so we understand our need for Him. Reflecting on what Jesus taught in the Sermon on the Mount, will help us draw closer to Him. This is part six of eight in the "Jesus, I Need You" series by Thistlebend Ministries. These plans can be done in any order. See also" Jesus, I Need You" (companion prayer).
