Take The Lid Off 7-Day Reading PlanНамуна
We can only release our potential by releasing God’s potential. That takes faith. Our faith doesn’t have to be perfect, but it has to be honest. Even the faltering, hesitant, confused, and incomplete faith of Gideon was enough. When we admit our weakness, God is ready to come in with power.
When our hearts, talents, and character are in alignment with God’s purposes, amazing things happen. We walk with the beautiful blend of humility and confidence. We get to see God’s power in action, and we’re amazed.
To get into alignment, take the steps we’ve identified: Make repentance a regular part of your routine so your heart stays clean and receptive. Fill your mind with thoughts about God. Be a sponge to soak in the truth of God’s Word, and then let it marinate in your mind and heart all day. Don’t just sit idly with your gifts. Identify them, invest in them, and find a mentor to help you fine-tune them. Realize you are a walking, talking temple of God. The Holy Spirit lives in you, and He produces spiritual fruit as you trust Him. The paths of God wind through the valleys and to the mountaintops. As we follow Him, we’ll experience unexpected surges of success and discouraging delays when we don’t see His hand at work. Have confidence that He’s preparing you for greater things. Even in times of waiting, stay active. Through it all, realize that your maximum potential is released only when you are vitally connected with God so that His limitless potential seeps into every pore, trickles into every moment, and explodes into your deepest needs.
This kind of alignment is like playing a piano. We learn it by careful study and practice, but if we don’t keep up the practice, our talent fades. We should enjoy God’s peace, but we should never relax. Our hearts need to stay steadfast—always searching, longing, looking, waiting, and expecting God to do magnificent things.

About this Plan
Pastor Smokie Norful uses the analogy of a cooking pot with a lid to help readers understand how God can release the pressure in their lives. He looks at different struggles and dreams that Christians have, and he identifies ways that they can "take the lid off" to find peace and fulfillment in God's plan for them.
