Jesus, I Need You Part 8Намуна
Listen as Jesus casts His vision. He says we are “the light of the world, a city set on a hill that cannot be hidden,” a manifestation of His kingdom for all to see. We are to allow Him to live freely and fully in our hearts so we will shine brightly with His light, that others might see His kingdom from all around. We want to be tangible evidence of a magnificent eternal world that exists beyond this temporal one. Living our lives on earth as a city on a hill is a powerful foreshadowing of things to come.
Jesus tells us that we are to be vessels of His light in the darkness, a tender guiding hand to the lost, a vision of hope for the broken, a call of repentance to the rebellious, a message of truth in a world clamoring for personal attention. When we fully follow Christ, we are a lamp that passionately burns the character of Christ. Our wick is ignited by the flint of a life lived in submission to Him.
We tend to underestimate the impact one life can have. But we will make an impression—good or bad. What we say and what we do creates an impression and carves a lasting image in the hearts and minds of those around us. So, what impact do you want to have? What legacy do you want to leave? What an incredible opportunity we have, as women, to impact generations to come.
PRAISE HIM
Praise God using Psalm 8 today.
ADMIT TO HIM
Lay before the Lord specifically the things that keep you from spending time alone with Him. Confess your sin to the Lord. Read Isaiah 58:1-8 and let it search your heart.
THANK HIM
Thank you, Lord, for being our light and for making us a light for your name to those around us.
ASK HIM
Ask the Lord to lead you with His light and truth as the psalmist asks in Psalm 43:3-4.
TAKE THE TRUTH TO HEART AND BRING THE TRUTH TO LIFE
Choose one truth from today and apply it to your heart. Take it with you throughout the day.
