ForgivenessНамуна

I’ll never forget the morning that God cleaned out my heart.
I had begged God, “Show me what’s keeping me from You!” And guess what He did. He showed me alright. What was keeping me from Him? It was me!
In His mercy, He stripped the sin from my heart; issue by issue, act by act. I asked His forgiveness and He took each offense, never to be seen again. He kept revealing and forgiving, and He did it over, and over, and over.
Ah! It was as if someone was scouring my insides, purifying me—painful, yes, but freeing. It’s just what I needed. And I told God, “God, search my soul and take over; inhabit every part of my being.” No room was left closed to Him any longer.
Even though the sin of my past—it was massive, but to Him, it was nothing—nothing He couldn’t deal with.
Because…Jesus did what I could not do! He lived a human life without ever giving in to temptation. We all fall short of the example Jesus set. And when we’re weak, we can rely on the incredible strength of Jesus’ death-breaking, soul-saving, innocent blood.
That’s how Christ—the greatest power in the world—works within us.
David, a poet king from the Bible, realized in Psalm 139 that no darkness is dark enough to outdo the brightness of God’s light.
He said...
I could ask the darkness to hide me
and the light around me to become night—
but even in darkness, I cannot hide from you.
To you, the night shines as bright as day.
Nothing in the universe is more powerful than God. His grace is all we need.
What’s the weakest area of your life?
We all have weaknesses, and it can be confusing to try to understand why God doesn’t just take them away. And we may never know.
But, the truth is, when we rely on God…that’s when we’re actually strongest. That’s when God’s power and glory take center stage in our lives.
In 2 Corinthians, God says:
...My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.
Bring your weakness before God, and receive His strength.
Let’s pray together…
God, You are the strong one. I want to bring You the weak areas of my life. I’m depending on You to cover me with Your grace and fill me with Your strength. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
