Forgiveness

DAY 2 OF 7

Romans 3:23 says …

… we have all sinned and fallen short of God’s glorious standard.

No one is perfect—not one single person! God didn’t save you because you were good. God came and paid the ultimate price on your behalf because He knew you were NOT perfect.

He even loved you before you loved Him.

Even though you’ve been made new, you’ll never be able to live as purely as Jesus lived. No one can. But God in His great mercy has made you completely right through Christ’s perfection, not your own.

In Christ, you are completely clean and alive!

As the Bible tells us in Ephesians 2:4-6

God, rich in mercy, greatly loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, and made us alive together with Christ. We are saved by grace.

Your identity before God is forever changed because of what Jesus has done for you. When you believed the Gospel, God freed you from the power of sin and guilt—lavishing on you, holiness and every good thing you did not deserve. He does this by grace, through faith.

We have to be realistic about sin. The call to repentance is not an accusation or a judgment. It’s just the reality we all face as humans in a broken world….

When you sin, come to God and confess it to Him. Choose to turn toward Him, not away. Remember, just because you sin, it does not mean you are no longer a Christian or no longer a child of God. Far from it, my friend! He sees you through the blood of His very own son, Jesus.

God has given you the gift of a new life. Our unfaithful acts cannot reverse His faithfulness. He will never stop loving you. He will not change His mind and take that gift back. Rejoice in your new identity, today. God says you are clean in Christ Jesus. That means you are truly clean!

Isaiah 43 says…

God has blotted out our sin, and He remembers it no more.

Let’s ask God to help us see ourselves how He sees us…

Lord, You know me so well—every wrong thing I’ve ever done— every mistake I will make in the future. Yet, because of Jesus, You see me as pure, beautiful, spotless. Help me see myself that way too, so I may live in the fullness of what You’ve given me. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
