DAY 25 OF 40

Christians Expect Persecution - Day 25

When we endure persecution, suffering, and hardship, one of the biggest lies of the enemy is that we are alone. We feel that we are the only ones who are struggling or who have dealt with any particular issue. While this is a logical conclusion for many, it could not be further from the truth. In persecution, we are unified with other believers and with Christ Himself, who suffered more than any of us have. Persecution is something that Christians all over the world face and have faced since the very beginning of the Church. Persecution is also something that draws us closer to God, not something that draws us away from Him. In fact, Paul addresses this in the book of Romans. He tells us that nothing, including persecution, can separate us from God’s love for us. Today, take a few minutes to pray and think about times in your life when you have gone through suffering and hardship. How have you been drawn closer to Christ during these times?
