Listen – Recognising the Holy Spirit’s Voice
Picture this: your phone rings, you answer, and before you even check the contact name, you know who’s calling. Why? Because their voice is familiar. That’s what happens when you learn to recognise the Holy Spirit’s voice!
Jesus said, "My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me" (John 10:27). The Holy Spirit speaks, but are you listening?
Listening to God isn’t always dramatic. Most of the time, it’s a quiet nudge:
- A name pops into your mind. Maybe they need encouragement.
- A feeling won’t go away. Perhaps God is leading you to speak up.
- A verse stands out to you. It could be exactly what someone needs.
At first, you may wonder, Is this God or just my thoughts? That’s okay! The more you practice, the clearer His voice becomes.
Today, take a few moments to be still and ask: Holy Spirit, what are You saying?
When have you sensed the Holy Spirit’s leading? How did you respond?
Pray
Holy Spirit, teach me to recognise Your voice. Help me to slow down, listen, and trust what You’re saying. I want to follow where You lead. Amen.
