Ask – Praying for Opportunities

Have you ever noticed how, when you start looking for something, you suddenly see it everywhere? Like when you decide to buy a certain car, and now you see it at every traffic light? That’s what happens when you ask God for opportunities to share Jesus—your eyes open to what He’s already doing!

Paul encouraged believers: "Devote yourselves to prayer with an alert mind and a thankful heart. Pray for us, too, that God will give us many opportunities to speak…" (Colossians 4:2-3).

The first step in sharing Jesus is to ask. Pray daily for open doors. Simple, right? Yet so powerful! Prayer shifts your heart from waiting for opportunities to watching for them.

Here are some prayers to get you started:

• Jesus, bring someone into my life today who needs Your love.
• Lord, give me the right words to encourage someone today.
• Holy Spirit, help me be aware of Your prompting.

When you start asking, get ready—God will answer! He may bring someone across your path, nudge you to check in on a friend, or give you a moment to share hope. The more you ask, the more you’ll see Him at work.
