Week 4: The Human Journey

DAY 2 OF 3

In Philippians 2:5-11, we will see that Jesus, despite having all the rights of being the Son of God, chose not to use them for his own comfort. Rather than arriving as a majestic King in Rome, he was born in a small town called Bethlehem and laid in a stable. Why did he choose this path?

Jesus dedicated his life to guiding us on the path we were meant to follow but couldn’t without him. Ultimately, he willingly faced death on a cross, a punishment reserved for the worst criminals.

The cross was not just any death; it was a punishment that represented guilt and shame. So why would the perfect Son of God endure such a fate? He did it out of love, choosing to die in our place and pay the penalty for our sins so that we could receive the gift of salvation.
