Lent: The Journey of Letting Go

DAY 22 OF 40

Week 4: God’s Presence in Suffering and Renewal

Theme: Even in our darkest valleys, God is with us, offering comfort, hope, and the promise of restoration. His love sustains us through every trial.

Focus Scripture: 2 Corinthians 1:3-4 ‘Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we receive from God.”

Connect: In moments of suffering, it’s easy to wonder if God has forgotten us. Have you ever felt abandoned by God? When prayers seem unanswered or struggles persist, it can feel like we are unseen and unloved. But scripture reminds us that God’s love is deeper than we can imagine.

Engage: Isaiah reminds us that God will never forget His people. Just as a mother cannot forget her child, so God holds us close and has compassion for us. This passage speaks of God’s faithfulness to restore and rescue us, even when we feel forsaken. It’s a beautiful picture of God’s tender care and enduring love. God has not forgotten you and loves you deeply.

Apply: Write a prayer of gratitude today, thanking God for the ways you have experienced love and healing. Meditate on the truth that you are never forgotten.

About this Plan

Lent: The Journey of Letting Go

Lent begins with a call to release control and embrace surrender. By letting go of the burdens we carry, we create space for God’s grace to bring renewal and transformation. Matthew 11:28-30 “Come to me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
