DAY 5 OF 7

5. Let God use all your gifts for His Kingdom

Sometimes you never really know until you step into a particular situation when you realize that you had that gift. I used to believe that you can either be creative or logical but cannot be both, which is not true. Over the course of my life, I have encountered numerous people, who can do both. Remember, God has given each of us unique gifts for His purpose. Here are three practical ways to make yourself available for God to use your gifts effectively

(i). Bring your talents to God so He can multiply (John 6:9)
God can use whatever little you do have to grow it and perform miracles. The Bible tells a story about a boy who only had five loaves of bread and two fish. “Here is a boy with five small barley loaves and two small fish, but how far will they go among so many?” ( John 6:9)
Logically, it does not make sense how the young boy’s lunch was going to help out. However, the boy did not hesitate to bring what he had to Jesus because he had faith in Jesus. He took all that the boy had offered, blessed it, and multiplied it. These five small loaves and two fish fed thousands and the Bible says they even had leftovers. This is the God we serve. Remember, little is much when it is in God’s hands. If you think your skills or talents are too small, just try and offer them to God, and He can multiply them in ways you never expected. God wants to use you; bring what you have to His house. You can volunteer, serve in a Ministry, Church or look for opportunities to help. Start small and watch God multiply your gifts, talents, and offerings!

(ii). Be Available & Responsible (Romans 12:1)
Jesus could not have given this responsibility to any other disciple because no one else was present at the feet of Jesus as He looked down being nailed to the cross. The reason why many people are not used by God is because they do not offer themselves as a living sacrifice before God. Another important consideration is responsibility. Jesus must have known John to be a responsible person, therefore, He gave him the very important task of taking Mary as his mother (John 19:25-27). To be used effectively by God, you need to be both, available and responsible.

(iii). Be patient, God will use you for His purpose (Habakkuk 2:3)
I used to wonder why Jesus just did not perform that miracle when His mother first asked at the wedding in Cana. I realized that she was trying to rush Him, but only He knew the right time. Are you waiting for Jesus to turn your situation around? Be patient, it could happen within the next minute, the next day, or even take a year, but through it all, do not give up! When it comes to God, learning patience is key. It is not just because patience is one of the nine fruits of the Holy Spirit; it is also because that is how God operates. God is not in a hurry, even if you are. His timing is never late or early; it is always just right.
