So many of us would like nothing more than to become more like our heroes. Maybe there is an Olympian you’ve admired for years who has inspired you to become an avid runner. Or perhaps you have followed an author who you now credit for helping you discover a habit of writing. These individuals whom we look up to often help us work toward creating our best selves—becoming a whole new version of who we could be! But nothing can compare to the transformation that comes with the goal of becoming more and more like Jesus. When we work to be more like Jesus, we naturally find ourselves bestowing more grace and forgiveness to those around us. The anger has no way to take hold when there is so much love and grace at work in us. There’s no magic word or specific deed that moves us from being flawed humans to showing the love of Jesus effortlessly. It’s something we do daily, step by step, with the help of God’s Spirit in us.
What are some aspects of Jesus that you would love to reflect more of in your everyday life? Ask the Spirit of the Lord to work in you to change you in those specific ways this week.

About this Plan
Forgiveness feels like something that we know we should do, but it isn’t always something we actually do. We all sometimes find it hard to live out forgiveness in our everyday lives. It’s hard to find a way to let go, but what if there is a way to let go and forgive? In this devotional, we’ll look at the way forgiveness can work in our lives to move us toward freedom for ourselves and others.
