Following Jesus in Nursing: A Daily Devotional for CaregiversНамуна

Take one minute, and breathe in and out slowly. Ask Jesus to make his presence known to you. How has Jesus ministered to you through community?
As nurses of faith, we are called to care both for those in our care and for our communities. Post-COVID and amid the social and cultural tumult in our nation, we have experienced separation while witnessing increasing stress, violence, physical, spiritual, and mental health challenges. Disconnection continues to be felt as gaps widen following episodes of violence, destruction of property, and increasing polarities over continuing ethnic and gender differences. How do we impact the professional communities and the larger nursing profession? It’s hard to answer these questions when we are wrestling with them ourselves. When I am with others who share the same vision and mission and myself I no longer feel alone and disconnected. I pray you too can find community to minister to you as you care for others. –Grateful for you, Jen
How does God work with others in our lives as a source of strength? How might this passage encourage you to draw from your community as you serve others?
Dear Jesus, thank you for your care for me. Help me feel you with me today. Help me care well for others today in your strength. Amen
