Forgiveness and Reconciliation

DAY 1 OF 24

Receive His Peace

Imagine this: finally finding peace! After a hard day at work or tension within the family, we’re often so exhausted that all we want is to collapse on the sofa. But despite our exhaustion, we can’t seem to find the peace we so deeply long for and urgently need. Do you know this feeling?

God has a special idea of peace. For Him, peace is not just a break from daily life but a continuous state—a constant communion with Him. In His presence, there is no restlessness. Whether you’re working or relaxing, experiencing highs or lows, His peace is always available. The key question is: Are you living in this peace? And if not, how do you get there?

If you’re not in God’s peace, restlessness prevails in your life—which means you are separated from God. It sounds simple, but living in His peace isn’t automatic. It requires your repentance and His forgiveness. Jesus urges us to turn our gaze away from ourselves and toward God. Trust in God, turn to Him, and find His peace through Jesus.

Jesus died on the cross to remove what separates you from His peace. It’s the fear that God might not provide for you, making you feel like you have to handle everything on your own. Entrust your fears to Jesus in faith and receive His forgiveness, His assurance, and His peace. Jesus teaches us to trust. He is humble and kind, and in Him, our soul finds rest. He grants you peace in your work, in your highs and lows. Open your heart to what He tells you, and you will find rest in Jesus.

God’s forgiveness means receiving His peace as you turn to Him and trust Him in everything. It is a gift through Jesus, and it’s up to you to accept this gift. Because David had a personal relationship with God, he could write in Psalm 86:5, “Lord, you are so good and ready to forgive, full of grace for all who ask for your help.” Are you ready to ask God for help like David did and come into His peace?

Next Step: Take a moment today to examine whether you are in God’s peace. If not, ask the Holy Spirit to show you what’s keeping you from entering God’s peace. Bring all your worries and fears to the cross—Jesus can and will carry them for you.
