God Is Love: 10 Days in the Book of John

DAY 10 OF 10

Nourished by Love

We cannot overstate the love of God for us. In fact, all too often, we understate it. It can be easy to let love become a rote cliché, and yet it is the source of all that we need to nourish, refresh, and strengthen us. It is the creative spark we look for. It is the rest we long for. It is the wonder of creation. It is the marvel of human connection. It is so much more than all we could imagine it to be.

If you do nothing else today, let the love of Christ nourish your heart. If there is anything that draws your attention back over and over again throughout your day, may it be the lavishly present affection your God has for you. Love will lift you up. It will make you soar. It will rush over you like a river, and it will send you to where you are meant to go. Love will give you the strength and courage to face whatever comes. It is the nourishment that will sustain you through droughts. Open up and receive the satisfying and transformative love of God. There is a fresh portion for you right here and now.

Loving God, it is too much for me to understand the influence of your love, and yet I’ve seen its miraculous power in my life. I feast on your love yet again. Thank you.
