God's Redemption Story (The Church: Part 2)Намуна

1 & 2 Peter– Day 2
“You shall be holy, for I am holy.” To many, this seems like a daunting task. It leads to questions like, If we are sinners in need of a Savior, how can we be Holy? And why would God ask us to do something we can’t do?
The Lord’s Command to be Holy is not a command to behave perfectly at all times. Instead, it is a command to live out our identities as a Chosen People, set apart for His Purposes. Our Holiness comes not in being sinless, but in abiding in the Only One who is.
The more we focus our minds and hearts on Jesus, the less we look like the world. Peter shows us that, as Christians, true and abiding Holiness is seen when we can love each other genuinely and wholeheartedly. As we grow in Christlikeness, we grow in Holiness.
