Philippians Pt. 1

DAY 5 OF 5

Welcome to Day 5! Yesterday, we reflected on Paul’s prayer for the Philippians to grow in knowledge and depth, building a faith that is rooted in understanding and a deep relationship with God. We saw how these two qualities help us remain as living sacrifices, pure and blameless before Him.

Today, we focus on one of Paul’s most profound declarations: “For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain” (Philippians 1:21). Paul uses the language of sacrifice to explain this powerful truth. To live as a Christian is to remain on the altar, enduring the challenges of life for the sake of Christ. To die, whether physically or by surrendering ourselves daily, is the ultimate gain, as it means we held fast to our heavenly calling.

Paul reminds us that our reward is not found in the comforts of this world but in Christ Himself. When we understand this, we can echo his prayer: “Lord, take everything. Take my dreams, my comforts, even my life. Just give me Jesus.” Today, let us reflect on what it truly means to live and die for Christ, keeping our eyes fixed on the joy of heaven.

Thank you for taking the time to explore Philippians with us over the past five days. Together, we have learned what it means to live as citizens of heaven, to remain on the altar as living sacrifices, and to trust God to complete the good work He began in us. These truths are not always easy to live out, but they are the foundation of a life that honours Christ.

We encourage you to continue this journey with Philippians Pt. 2, where we will go deeper into Paul’s joyful letter and discover even more about how to live with heavenly purpose. Let’s keep pressing forward, growing in faith and drawing closer to the heart of God.

See you in Pt. 2!
