All Who Are Weary: God Is My DelivererНамуна
God Fights for Me
Moses answered the people, “Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the LORD will bring you today. The Egyptians you see today you will never see again. The LORD will fight for you; you need only to be still.” -Exodus 14:13-14
The Promise: God Fights for Me, and I Only Need to be Still.
Some days you just need to be still. Take a breath, and then another. Look around at the light streaming in through the windows. Tune your ear to hear the song of birds in beautiful melody. Slow down your mind and rest in the reprieve God offers through His presence. It’s not about doing something a specific way to lessen the anxiety, but more of being with the one who steadies you with His beautiful love and power. God will bring the deliverance you need; it’s your job to be still and trust Him.

Try This: Photography Excursion
Taking pictures focuses our attention on subjects that can steady our mind. Whether you use a point and shoot, DSLR, or your phone, look around you and see what you want to focus on. Is it a silent field at sunset? Your child eating an ice cream cone? The playful smile of your puppy? Whatever captures your attention, set it in focus, find the right angle and frame, and snap away. Examine how the photo came out, and take a few extras for just a little different look.
