DAY 6 OF 7

Staying On Course

Day 5 of this plan gave guidance for a "crawl, walk, run" framework for shaping attainment of your desired future. So how do you stay on course? What happens in the midst of setbacks? Does the framework thrive in the real world? I say, "Yes!"

I'm very aware that "Life happens" and the framework is very forgiving. In fact, its power is its focus upon each new day. Each new day provides the opportunity to start over with resolve and expectation.

If I have a tough day and don't meet that day's daily tasks, I assess what went wrong, determine a strategy to do better the next day, and commit to do better the next day. Stated differently, any failure is seen as being a discreet event and not a state of being. With such a daily focus, any required course corrections should be minimal and manageable.

So, each day brings new opportunities to apply what I've learned in meaningful ways that keep me on the path to attaining my goals. This aligns with the knowledge that God provides us new mercies each day (Lamentations 3:23, Contemporary English Version) and The Lord's Prayer (Matthew 6:9-13) in which we ask for our daily bread.

Quite simply, the framework is intended to empower, not condemn.

Encouragement: If you commit to the process and continue to treat yourself lovingly while holding yourself accountable, you will succeed if you don't quit. You can do it!
