We’re The Church

DAY 6 OF 8

Good neighbors care, share, and they’re always there.

When Jesus was asked what the most important command was, He said to love God and love others.

But how do we love others well? Love them as you love yourself. Every time you’re around other people, think about how you would want to be treated. When you see someone who needs help, help them. If someone’s in need, care for them. If someone needs encouraging, encourage them. If someone is sad, comfort them. And the best part is, when we show love to others, we also show love to God!

Watch the video, then use the Bible verse Luke 10:27 to play Memory Match-Up. It will help you remember that loving God and loving others is the most important thing!

Memory Match-Up

  1. Write all of Luke 10:27 on a piece of paper.
  2. Cut out 10 rectangles from a different piece of paper.
  3. Write 2 words from Luke 10:27 on each rectangle.
  4. Turn all the rectangles over and mix them up.
  5. Try to find the words of the Bible verse in order.
  6. Play again without looking at the Bible verse.

Talk It Over: What are some ways you can love others by treating them as you would like to be treated?

About this Plan

We’re The Church

God uses His Church to change the world. His Church isn’t a building—it’s everyone who follows Jesus! Find out how God can use you to change the world! For Parents: Your child will have a deeper understanding of each day’s reading and questions if you complete this Bible Plan with them. This plan includes several games to play for verse memorization. You may want to supervise use of materials.
