What Jesus Said About Making Disciples

DAY 5 OF 9

The remaining task

The question that confronts the church today is how much still needs to be done. How many have not heard the gospel yet? The answer is that at least three billion people worldwide have not heard the gospel once. There are still +7000 unreached people groups. (One of the definitions of an unreached people group is when such a group has less than 2% Christians among them.) Only 18,3% of non-Christians personally know a Christian. How can they hear unless someone tells them? They will not come to church. We will have to go to them.

About 32% of all people in the world will identify themselves as Christians. However, a considerable percentage of these people are nominal Christians – people with no living relationship with Jesus.

The Operation World and Josua Project web pages are two of the best sources on the remaining task.

An important YouTube video to watch: Tears of the Saints.

The chart below is our remaining task.

Obedience: Take time now to pray and ask the Lord Jesus: Lord, You died for me. What do You want me to do to bring change to this Pie-Chart?

Reminder: Pray for opportunities to reach out to the pain, lostness, and brokenness in the world around you. How can you be a blessing to people? Remember that when we pray for this to happen, God will send you to such people or send them to you. Be prepared.
