DAY 7 OF 21

Genesis 16:13

Hagar was mistreated by her mistress and fled. She was alone, pregnant and without any visible means of help. But God met her in her crisis, not only during this time but also later when she and Ishmael had to flee again (see Genesis 21:8–21). “The God who sees” not only saw, but he also understood.

God sees us too, even in our most desperate circumstances and during out loneliest times. We do not experience any situation that he does not see and understand. Even if our mistakes have led us into those situations, his love and compassion remain the same. He is the God who encounters us in our wilderness, calms our fears and blesses us with a good and fruitful future.
