NIV Once-A-Day Bible for WomenНамуна
Genesis 24:15–24
When Rebekah saw that Abraham’s servant was in need, she offered him her help. In fact, she gave more than she was asked—she gave water to the servant and his camels. Camels require gallons and gallons of water, and Rebekah drew enough for all of them.
We are called to serve God and his people. Sometimes that service requires something more of us than we might be anticipating. For example, God may take us out of our comfort zone; or we may have to take time out of a busy day to help someone; or he may ask us to do something difficult or physically demanding. We may never know how our faithfulness will echo into eternity, but God sees even our smallest acts of service. He promises to reward even a cup of cold water in his name (see Matthew 10:24; Mark 9:41).
