The First Letter of JohnНамуна
The Anointing Remains in You
It may be a good thing to have a look at the introduction to the reading plan to understand this passage. The focus here is John telling his readers that it isn’t in some superior knowledge that we have confidence before God. We already have all the “superior knowledge” necessary to access God’s love. It is in abiding in Him that we have confidence. This abiding also produces righteous living - and righteous living, in turn, produces more abiding.
Devotional Question:
Do I actively live abiding in Christ, or has shame made a distance between us?
Challenge yourself to draw closer to God – even if you don’t ‘know’ how. Simply start practicing abiding.
About this Plan
1 John is one of the most quoted books of the Bible, and for a good reason: John understood God’s love in a special way. As we explore the pages of this book, let that be our main goal: to understand the love of God better and better, and to grow closer to Him.
